Well it's only been 7 months since I last blogged! Pax was just saying a few words then - now he talks all day long. He repeats just about anything and has a vocabulary of probably 100 words. He's amazed me with how quickly he's learning - he can tell you just about all of his letters, sing his ABC's with a little help, and the other day he counted to 10 and then skipped to 20! Some of his favorite things to do lately are:

~ read books - mostly Thomas books
~ throw/kick balls
~ sit on his big boy bed
~ take baths
~ the Little Gym

Pax loves playing in his room....apparently it's fun to sit in the corner and then run and jump on the bed....he does this every single night before bed.

We celebrated Paxson’s 1st birthday last Saturday! I still can’t get over the fact he is already a year old. And if you ask him how old he is, he’ll try really hard to put his first finger up! Pax had a great time eating his Mickey Mouse cake. Never again will I make a cake with black icing =)

Pax is becoming quite the golfer. It is by far his favorite toy. Give him a club and a golf ball and he’ll be entertained for a good 20 minutes.

Walking – Pax has been walking on his own for about 2 weeks. He does really well except for at night when he’s sleepy, then he just rolls around on the floor. It is so funny to watch.

Opening & closing doors/cabinets – He thinks it is the greatest accomplishment ever to open and close a door. He is getting really good at jumping up and down and opening/slamming the kitchen cabinets simultaneously. Pretty impressive.

“Blankie” – We don’t leave home without it. And if he doesn’t have it in his hands around bedtime he’ll be walking around looking for it (sometimes he’ll grab a towel thinking it’s his “blankie”)

Wooden blocks – It’s the simple things in life for children. I think that’s what makes them so perfect! He just mastered stacking them. I was a VERY proud mom when I saw this for the first time. I still give him a kiss and hug every time he does it…David thinks I’m crazy.

Microwaves - Yes, he has a small obsession with them. I don't understand it, but it's really funny.

We had a great Easter Sunday! We went to church in Monticello and then headed to Bellflower for dinner with my family. Days like this remind me of how blessed we are...great family, a really good meal (compliments of my mom), perfect little boys, lots of love...thank you God!

In the last month...

* We moved to a new house! We love it. It's about 3 miles out of town in an older subdivision. We have more room, a yard, and a fun playground for Paxson to play on this summer! The only bad thing is now that we're out in the boonies we can't get affordable cable/internet which means I won't be able to post pictures very often =( But I think it will be good for us not to have it. That means more time spent with my two favorite boys!

* Paxson started taking steps. I think his record right now is about 7 steps. He has also become a big mama's boy. He loves to hang on my leg while I get ready in the morning. Today I finally got smart and rolled his highchair into our bedroom and gave him a snack while I got ready. The boy loves to eat! Why didn't I think of this a month ago!

Hopefully I will be able to post some pictures soon!

Paxson is becoming VERY mobile. He loves to climb anything and everything then just lets go as if he can stand up. Which surprisingly he does do pretty well. I hope that doesn't mean he'll be walking soon. I am most definitely not ready for that. He has recently taken up basketball. I'm thinking he might actually be better than his daddy (j/k honey).

My mom watches Pax two days a week which is a HUGE blessing. He is becoming quite the grandma's boy. He gets so excited whenever he sees her. Today, she was a big trooper and watched both Pax and Cam! I think they wore her out, but I'm sure the boys loved spending the day with their grandma. Thank you mom!

Paxson turned 8 months old yesterday. He's crawling and feeding himself snacks and bananas. He says "dadadada" but we're working really hard on "mama" He has one and half teeth on the bottom and is working on two more on the top! Here are a few new videos...

Ok so it is way past my bedtime but Steph reminded me that I needed to get these pictures up so here I am at 9:40pm just for you Stephanie!

It really hasn't taken us a month to finish this great project. David's wonderful sister came and helped us the next day so thanks to Christen we were able to get it all done in one day!

Christen actually admitted it was fun pulling up the million staples in the floor.....she probably took that back after getting a blister =(

I recruited my dad to come hang up all of my decor! Thank you dad =) And of course he and mom counted...they drilled 24 holes in our wall!

Project...

I've always been the type of person who loves to think of projects. I'll get this great picture in my head of how I want everything to look and how it's going to be so much fun and easy. Then every single time, once I start my "great" project, I quickly realize how difficult it's going to be and start wishing I had never began. Kind of like when you start to clean your house, but then as you're putting something in a drawer you start to clean out the drawer and then make an even bigger mess than what you started with.

So tonight was one of those nights. I've been wanting to rip up the carpet in our living room for awhile now, but David kept trying to persuade me it wasn't as easy as I thought. I finally talked him into letting me, so tonight I tried to conquer this task. I got about 10 minutes into it before I realized it wasn't easy and it sure wasn't fun. My dining room is now full of all our living room furniture and Paxson was scared to death of the shop vac. Christen is coming tomorrow to help me, so hopefully that will make this project better (hopefully she doesn't see this picture before then or she might change her mind!).

On another note, Paxson found his little thumb! And he is rolling over from his back to his tummy. He also slobbers like crazy and his poop is really starting to stink. Oh and he loves airplane time.

I can't believe how big my little boy is getting. He'll be 3 months on Sunday! Everyone says it goes by fast but you don't really understand until you're experiencing the real thing! David and I are enjoying every minute. Here are some updated pictures....finally!!!!

It seems as though Pax already has his daddy's legs. He may have been born the smallest, but I believe one day he will be large and in charge compared to Cam and Evan! =)

Paxson is getting SO big! He loves to tell us about his dreams when he wakes up =) He just talks and talks and has the cutest smile in the world. He's perfect. Oh and he officially rolls over every time we put him on his belly...

Paxson's First Cubs Game!

Paxson and I got David tickets to the Cubs/Cards game for his birthday. We drove up the night before to stay with Michelle. Brad and Christen decided to drive up and try to scalp tickets. Somehow they ended up getting seats about 15 rows in front of us! Then the people behind them never showed up so we all got to sit together. To make it even better the Cubs won!

1st Family Vacation!

We were very fortunate to go see David's family in North Carolina! It was great to get away for awhile and even better to spend time with his family. Paxson was very loved and spoiled! It was very hard to say goodbye knowing that we probably won't see everyone again until Christmas =(

Paxson did very well on his first plane ride. We changed a few poopy diapers on my lap..

Like I said Paxson was very spoiled...I don't think he got put down too many times =)

We celebrated Grandma O'Malleys 30th birthday =), David's 23rd Bday, and my 24th Bday!

My Bday/4th of July...

So I'm about a month late in blogging this but who's counting. We've been super busy this month between vacation (which I'll blog about later), going back to work, and raising a growing baby boy! Here are some pics from my 24th bday and Paxson's first 4th of July!

My wonderful sister was home for a little over a month! It was great having her here, but sadly she had to go back to FL =(

Paxson is becoming quite the world traveler. He turned 4 weeks today and I don't think we've been home a single weekend since he's been born! Last weekend we went up to Park Forest to see some of David's family... Aunt Jessie, Aunt Ariana & Uncle Wilson, Aunt Thais, Alex, Uncle Clay, Aunt Julie & Angel (their dog), and Gma and Gpa Tanis. Paxson decided he would sleep a majority of the weekend, but we had a lot of fun. Unfortunately I didn't take too many pictures, but I did manage to capture one of Ariana, Jessie, and Paxson.

Then we headed to Saybrook to celebrate the Freedom Fest. This was David's first experience at the Saybrook 4th of July celebration. I think he was a little surprised by how many people were there and he was really into the bike guy throwing fire.

We left early because it started to rain but it was a fun day!

Our bye bye baby stayed home with Gma and Gpa Raymer so David could take me out to dinner on my bday. We went straight to Olive Garden and straight home. We both missed Paxson, but enjoyed our first evening with just each other. The night wouldn't have been complete without our traditional self portrait car pic.

I love watching our little boy sleep. He always has a new position. These are two of my favorites. He thinks he's big stuff.

Every day I wake up to the most beautiful baby boy. He's a lot of hard work, but also the most rewarding. Sometimes it doesn't feel like the 3am feedings will ever end, but when I see his perfect blue eyes and gummy smile the next day I know its all worth it. Everyone warned us how hard this was going to be, only being married for 5 months and then having a baby. Its only been 2 weeks, but the best two weeks of my life. I can't imagine it being any different. I think having Paxson has actually enabled me to love David even more. I don't know if its just the emotional stage I'm in, but sometimes I just cry happy tears because of how blessed I feel to have David and Paxson in my life. I couldn't ask for anything more.

David and I are also very blessed to have such great families. Grandma and Grandpa Raymer haven't missed too many days since Paxson has been born! He's also been able to meet most of his aunts and uncles. We've spent a lot of time with Uncle Jake, Aunt Melissa, and Cam since they've been closer to home. Aunt Jen and Evan are here until the end of July so we're excited to hang out with them! Paxson got to meet Uncle Brad and Aunt Christen the other day so that was nice to finally get to spend some time with them! He'll get to meet the rest of them and his Grandma and Grandpa O'Malley in just a few weeks
when we head out to North Carolina!!

On Saturday, June 7, 2008 David and I were blessed with a beautiful healthy baby boy! He weighed 7lbs and was 18 3/4 inches long. He couldn't be any more perfect! Though we know there are many sleepless nights ahead of us (just had one last night!), we are so excited to be parents. I never want to put him down! I told David to let me know if I'm being a baby hog. I just can't get enough of him! Thank you to everyone who came and saw us in the hospital! well i am officially overdue. i'm thinking about charging rent! david and i are very anxious for baby o'malley to be born. we even walked up to the high school the other night and played basketball, funnel ball (which i'm pretty sure we made up), and the states game (this involved us walking from state to state on the painted map and me naming each state....david was surprised by how un-geographically smart i was). social studies never was my best subject. i declared yesterday my first day of maternity leave! sitting behind a desk for 8 hours just wasn't going to speed anything up, so we went to champaign and walked around all day! then today we cleaned like crazy people for a good 5 hours. still no signs of labor! we have a stubborn little guy. but as everyone says, he'll come when he is ready. ready or not he'll be here by wednesday. i have an appt to be induced that day if nothing happens before then. i'm praying he comes naturally though. please pray for us to remain patient, for a safe delivery and healthy baby boy!

well i have a lot of catching up to do...our lives have been a little crazy lately. everything is going well though. david just finished up school! woo hoo! actually thats not true...he's taking two summer classes and then has another full load next semester but he's getting closer! as of yesterday we found out he has an internship for the summer which is very exciting. once again God has been very faithful to us. He's amazing. David will start working for an accounting firm here in town next week, which will be perfect b/c thats right about when this baby is going to pop out! (at least thats what we're hoping for). we're getting very anxious for baby o'malley to finally be here. his room is all ready so he is now allowed to come any time =)

We went to the St. Louis zoo and then to the Cubs/Cards game as one of our last dates pre-baby...

We enjoyed a nice cookout with our friends from LCC before they all part for the summer. best part was probably david wheeling the grill down a block to our house from our church secretary's house (its a shame i didn't capture this photo op). one of these days we'll get one...

We woke up at 8am last saturday morning so we could garage sale!!! I was really excited...David not so much but i think he enjoyed himself =) It was a successful day...not only did we find a crib in excellent condition, but we were also able to put it together!

It was a beautiful day so we decided to go for a walk in Allerton park. It was great to get out and be reminded of how amazing God's creation truly is.

This past weekend we went to one of my good friend from High School's wedding...

Undedicated Bloggist

I had a feeling my procrastination skills would be kickin soon. I've never been too good about keeping diaries or journals and it looks like blogging falls right into that category. I'll try to work on that. So anyway, for those of you who are wondering about the O'Malleys, we're doing great. Married life is wonderful and baby O is growing to become a healthy little boy. I had a sono yesterday and they informed us that he weights about 4lbs and 6ozs! That might explain my large and in charge belly. Only 7 weeks left!

with the very nice help of my mom and david our son now has a cute room! i'll give my dad some credit...he filled in a couple holes in our wall while he was here =) and i stripped wallpaper. it was actually really fun. (32 weeks in this pic)

we spent this past weekend with christen and brad in springfield. we played rock band, went bowling and they kept me up way past my bedtime but we had a lot of fun! david was really stinky while we were bowling so he sat with his friends while christen attempted to not pass out. yes its always that bad.

weird night

So its been normal for me to wake up atleast 2-3 times during the night to go to the bathroom, but this particular night I woke up 3 times due to other things. First it was my own obnoxious laugh. I have no idea what I was dreaming about but I just remember waking up because it was so loud. I continued to laugh once I was awake, still having no clue why i was even laughing in the first place. The next morning we remembered David waking up and asking me what was so funny? Every once in a while I'll think about it and just start cracking up b/c it was such a weird annoying laugh.

Then later on i woke up b/c i could have sworn someone lit my hands on fire. I don't know if this is normal in pregnancies or what, but I've never had this feeling before. So i grabbed this bottle of lotion and just held it b/c it felt cold for like 5 minutes and then my hands were hot again. I finally got up and ran them under cold water.

I ended up going back to sleep and then waking up for the third time that night thinking "why is david doing that??" So after i asked him and then realizing he was sound asleep, i figured out he wasn't actually under my side poking me but rather the baby kicking.

i just want to say that i love being pregnant. if the feeling of baby o'malley squirming and kicking all day in my belly is this amazing, i can't imagine how perfect it will be to actually hold him! what a little miracle.

Randomness....

We've been pretty busy the past couple of weeks between work, school, and other random things! David got a job! We were so thankful that finally worked out! He started working for a chiropractor this past week and has put in extra hours due to some office drama that went on before he was hired. And because of this we were able to move up in the world by getting cable and internet (something we decided we'd get only if he got a job!).

My husband and I had a wonderful first Valentine's Day together! First he brought me flowers to work....

Then he made me an amazing dinner all from scratch (chicken parmesan!)...

Then he made this dessert that was supposed to light on fire, but it didn't really work so we prob ate a little butane. but it was still good.

And as usual we took some pictures of ourselves! It'll be much more exciting to look at pictures of our baby I'm sure, but for now this will have to do!

Baby O'Malley just keeps growing and growing =) He loves to kick me! We can't wait to have this little boy! (23 weeks)

Popsicles

So this is kind of a funny story. Last night I was really craving some Edy's fruit popsicles so my sweet husband went and got them for me. Well we go to eat them (I'm in the living room and he's in the kitchen) and it sticks all around my lips. As I'm slurring trying to warn him he does the same thing. This immediately reminded me of the time I stuck tape on my lips as I was wrapping xmas presents and when I took it off my lips started bleeding. I thought that was going to happen again so as he slowly gets his off, I grab the nearest glass of water and pour it not only on my face, but all over my clothes and couch. David goes, "its not like its a pole!" hahaha i laughed alot. I do think I kind of know how the kid on A Christmas Story felt now.

We decided to take a trip this weekend to go see Jake, Melissa, & Cameron. It was a lot of fun. We got to hear Jake preach, play old school Nintendo, and of course play with Cameron!

Yay we're officially Mr. & Mrs. O'Malley! We're just getting settled into our new house, which we will eventually put pictures up (just for you sister!) I went back to work this week and David went back to school. Not too much fun. However marriage is absolutely wonderful! Well it's only been a week, but so far its perfect. Here are a couple pics from the wedding and our honeymoon in AZ!

Best and worst time of the year...

I love Christmas time, but I have never been a big fan of winter. If it weren't for spending time with family and celebrating the New Year, I think I'd just hybernate while it snowed. Especially after last night. David and I were on our way to my house to hang out for New Years when we slid on the ice and put my car in the ditch. Luckily there was a culvert on the passenger side to keep us from flipping over. It was very scary, but thankfully neither one of us was hurt. We went to the emergency room this morning just to make sure everything was ok with the baby. Once we heard the heartbeat, we were both very relieved. I might however have to say goodbye to the Cavi =( I'm almost positive it's totaled, but we'll see. Aside from that, we had a great Christmas! Now we're just trying to get last minute things done before the wedding. 4 more days!

i can't believe we only have 30 more days until the wedding. i guess it goes by fast when you're only engaged for 2 months! i can't wait for it to be here! i couldn't imagine waiting a year like some people. david and i spent the past week trying to get prepared for the big day. we finished registering, which let me tell you, was very time-consuming! i thought we could just go in there and scan away. but no, we spent forever trying to figure out if this would match that and how this would look in that room. so in the middle of all that we decided to hang out in the massage chairs for a good 30 minutes. then david proceeded to register for them =) we finally got all of our invitations sent out. now we're just in desperate need of finding a photographer so if you know of anyone with a nice camera and knows how to take a picture let me know! we also found a house here in monticello! it was between two, one was really small with absolutely no storage and the other was much more feasible with a nice basement and lots more room. we found out yesterday we'll be able to rent the better of the two so that's exciting! hopefully we'll be able to move our things in next weekend. i'm ready to be organized again. my stuff is like a tornado throughout my parents house and my car has only enough room for me to barely sit in it. oh the crazy life we lead.

well i figured since everyone else in the family has a blog, it was only right for us to start one of our own. that way you can all keep up with our crazy life we're about to begin together. ok so we're not really the "o'malleys" yet but come january 5th it will be official! i'm so excited. we've gotten all kinds of comments and advice from "it's going to be very hard" to "it's the absolute best thing in the world!" i'm sure it can be both at times, but can't wait to find out for myself!
